Remote role with occasional travel to customers and facilities in Berkshire. A leading service bureau with a well-established reputation and client base is seeking a results-oriented Sales Manager to secure new clients across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in building relationships and driving sales growth within a dynamic and growing market.

Work Environment: Home-based with occasional travel to the office (once a week) and client meetings across the country. Opportunity to work with diverse customers in a multi-technology environment.

Role Summary: The Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with a focus on the aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and medical sectors. You will create and execute sales strategies, build relationships with key decision-makers, and drive successful customer acquisition and new revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to target new customers and expand into new industry sectors.
  • Proactively build relationships with prospective clients through effective communication and networking.
  • Generate leads through research, cold calls, and other proactive prospecting activities.
  • Develop and qualify opportunities in target markets with support from the Head of Sales & Marketing.
  • Manage customer data effectively using CRM systems and provide accurate sales forecasting data.
  • Understand customer requirements and develop tailored key account development plans with SMART objectives.

Requirements

  • Essential Sales Expertise: Proven experience in business development, preferably within the manufacturing or engineering sector, is crucial. Plastic/Additive Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge: A strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, ideally with experience in additive manufacturing, is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: The ability to read technical drawings and interpret manufacturing requirements is necessary to effectively communicate with clients and ensure project success.
  • Exceptional Customer Engagement: Professional and capable customer interaction/engagement skills are paramount to building rapport, fostering trust, and securing new business opportunities.
  • Public Presentation Experience: Prior experience at trade shows and public presentations demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
