Introduction
The People and Culture Team works collaboratively with colleagues across the House Service and PDS to steer and track our progress and to support the employee journey across the organisation.
The Reward and Employee Engagement team leads our approach to pay, reward and engagement with our Trade Union colleagues.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to lead our strategic approach to pay, reward and non-cash benefits. Reporting to the Director of Employee Engagement, the Head of Reward will be responsible for leading a team of Pay & Reward professionals that delivers, tactical and strategic pay and reward solutions.
They will lead the development of our strategic approach and thinking to pay and reward reform will be a key focus as we deliver our strategy.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing strong corporate leadership across the pay and reward agenda
- Leading on the development and delivery of key workstreams
- Acting as the leading source of expertise within Pay and Reward within the House
- Supporting and developing strategic Pay and Reward elements,
- Leading and further developing compliance and governance arrangements across the pay reward and trade union environments.
- Leading activity to maximise resources, monitoring and managing performance and supporting development as part of role modelling positive manager behaviours and a diverse and inclusive working environment.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Deep and broad up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Pay and Reward with significant senior level experience designing, delivering and evaluating effective initiatives within a similar multi trade union environment
- Experience of managing teams and projects, working across a complex organisation to deliver, BAU, cultural change and excellent customer service across a range of activities, projects and programmes
- Significant experience of working high-profile senior level roles. Demonstrable political awareness, diplomacy and discretion
- Proven ability to influence and inspire at all levels and across diverse stakeholder groups, including Board level
- High level of analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Actively promoting and role modelling positive line management behaviours, setting effective objectives, encouraging and supporting individual and team development and promoting diversity and inclusion
