The Role:

  • Specify and develop microfluidic devices for droplet-based workflows.
  • Convert microfluidic prototype designs to manufacturing specifications including detail design drawings, materials specifications and test procedures.
  • Work with third-party manufacturers to establish cost-effective manufacturing approaches for microfluidic devices.
  • Manage efficient transfer to manufacture of new devices with third parties.
  • Test prototype devices by designing and assembling test jigs and by operating laboratory rigs.
  • Assist in developing fluidic, optical, electric and mechanical interfaces between microfluidic devices and instruments.
  • Generate concise, professional documents and reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Broad knowledge of materials for microfluidic devices.
  • Experience of the product development lifecycle from initial feasibility to established production.
  • Competent with multi-phase flow and interfacial phenomena.
  • Practiced CAD user, SolidWorks preferred.
