The Role:
- Specify and develop microfluidic devices for droplet-based workflows.
- Convert microfluidic prototype designs to manufacturing specifications including detail design drawings, materials specifications and test procedures.
- Work with third-party manufacturers to establish cost-effective manufacturing approaches for microfluidic devices.
- Manage efficient transfer to manufacture of new devices with third parties.
- Test prototype devices by designing and assembling test jigs and by operating laboratory rigs.
- Assist in developing fluidic, optical, electric and mechanical interfaces between microfluidic devices and instruments.
- Generate concise, professional documents and reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Broad knowledge of materials for microfluidic devices.
- Experience of the product development lifecycle from initial feasibility to established production.
- Competent with multi-phase flow and interfacial phenomena.
- Practiced CAD user, SolidWorks preferred.
