We have an opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join a fast-growing general construction company in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Our client has a healthy order book and undertakes a range of education and industrial/commercial schemes. Services they provide include small works, refurbishments, small extensions/new build, general maintenance, internal remodeling, drainage, building envelope & M & E. Current scheme values go up to £2m. They are part of a strong and expanding group of companies where there is plenty of room for progression. Our client designed and built their office, which boasts a modern, open plan working space, and an onsite gym. They operate under a strong management team committed to staff well-being and professional growth. As well as annual events during the summer and at Christmas, they also organise social occasions throughout the year.
The role - Senior Estimator
This is a hands-on estimating role where you will be involved in schemes in their entirety from start to finish. You will be involved in the detail and will measure works, build up a BOQ, and send out packages. Duties will include:
- Quoting for work from specs, drawing and site surveys
- Conducting material take-offs and liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
- Producing BOQ
- Contract negotiation
- Programming
- Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and tender documents
- Assessing project risks and opportunities to ensure competitive and profitable bids
- Managing and submitting tender proposals in line with deadlines
Applicant requirements
You will be a detail-oriented Senior Estimator with a proven track record working on general contracting schemes. You will have worked on refurbishment schemes of a similar value. This role would suit a Senior Estimator from a small to medium company background. You will have experience of working on schemes from conception to completion. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday (8:00-17:00) based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, 4 days a week, 1 day a week working from home.
