Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a specialist contractor that operates throughout South Wales and South West England. They undertake contracts for a range of clients including local authorities, major contracting groups, universities, colleges, individual sports clubs, and private clients.
These are long-term temporary vacancies which can go permanent for the right candidates.
About the Role:
As a Tractor Driver / Groundworker, you will play a crucial role in delivering sports turf renovation projects for a wide range of clients. From community sports clubs to elite facilities, you will help maintain and elevate the standards of natural sports surfaces across the region.
Working Hours: 7:30 to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:00 Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating tractors with PTO implements, including Koro machines, aerators, seeders, and top dressers.
- Assisting with all aspects of sports turf renovation, preparation, and maintenance.
- General labouring duties such as turf cutting, raking in areas inaccessible to machinery, and other manual tasks as required.
- Ensuring machinery is operated safely and maintained to a high standard.
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience operating tractors with PTO-driven machinery.
- Ideally, experience within the sports turf renovation sector.
- Strong understanding of machinery maintenance and operation.
- Willingness to undertake manual labour as part of the role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Willingness to work away from home when required.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of sports turf management practices.
- Understanding of irrigation systems and their operation/maintenance.
- CPCS or equivalent in agricultural tractor.
- NVQ Level 2 in turf surface maintenance.
