Royal Borough of Greenwich are seeking a dedicated and organised caseworker to join the Leader of the Council’s Office as part of a small team. The team supports the Leader and Deputy Leader in supporting residents in Greenwich. This role will be based in Woolwich Town Hall and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The vacancy is for up to 21 hours per week, with some flexibility as to how worked across the week. The majority of your time will be office-based, with some flexibility for home working. Applicants should be highly literate, efficient, and personable, with a good telephone manner. They should also be well-organised, have strong attention to detail, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to serving residents in Greenwich. This position would suit someone with previous experience as a caseworker or office administrator although applications will be considered from those without specific casework experience should the person specification be met.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to enquiries from constituents and progressing casework.

  • Ensuring casework is dealt with promptly, sensitively, and accurately.

  • Logging cases, monitoring progress, and ensuring all identified actions are

completed.

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with data

protection legislation.

  • Handling a large volume of casework, drafting responses to constituents, gathering

relevant information, and liaising with the team or external organisations to resolve

cases.

  • Excellent written communication and organisational skills.

  • Strong time management, prioritisation, and multitasking abilities.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
