The Role

As an IT Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong partnerships with Directors, Senior Managers, and key stakeholders across the business. Your primary responsibility will be to align business needs with digital solutions, ensuring that technology drives efficiency, innovation, and customer value.

You will act as the trusted advisor for business areas, helping to shape strategic roadmaps, manage demand for services, and oversee the successful delivery of projects and business transformation initiatives. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to driving change, optimising service management, and ensuring the seamless integration of technology solutions.

What is expected of the IT Business Partner?

  • Define, develop, and maintain a multi-year strategic roadmap, aligning IT and business strategies.
  • Act as the single point of contact for business areas, understanding their challenges and priorities.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration between business units and technology providers.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of key projects, prioritising workstreams to maximise efficiency.
  • Facilitate continuous service improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Chair Line of Business Boards, ensuring project spend, delivery progress, risks, and KPIs are actively managed.
  • Monitor incident management and service issues, ensuring high-quality resolution and communication.
  • Oversee resource planning, identifying and securing internal and external project resources as needed.
  • Support the development of business cases, ensuring proposals align with strategic goals and deliver tangible value.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication of progress, risks, and outcomes.

What we look for in an IT Business Partner:

  • Strong stakeholder management experience at all levels of an organisation.
  • Proven track record of driving and implementing change within a business.
  • Agile delivery expertise, with experience managing multi-skilled teams in dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on experience with business and technical transformation projects.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, ensuring strategic alignment and effective execution.
  • Experience in programme and project management, delivering customer value through both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project or alternative project planning tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
