Senior Mechanical Design EngineerContract – £50-55 per hour (Outside IR35)

Location: Scotland (On-site)

We\’re hiring on behalf of a client looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. The role focuses on the design and development of electro‐mechanical products used in automated systems, including intricate internal mechanisms for an electronic machine.

Key Responsibilities

Design new components and support existing product updates

Design intricate internal mechanisms for an electronic machine

Work with operations, suppliers, and other teams

Ensure design quality, performance, and cost‐effectiveness

Run design reviews, testing, and validation

Manage documentation and change control processes

What We\’re Looking For

5+ years in mechanical design, ideally in electromechanical systems

Experience designing intricate internal mechanisms for complex machines

Strong CAD skills (ProE/Creo or Solidworks)

Knowledge of drive systems, mechanisms, and prototyping

Experience with stress/tolerance analysis

Good communicator, able to manage multiple projects

Open to occasional international travel

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above preferred)
