Overview of the Role
As a Senior National Account Manager, you will play a critical role in driving commercial performance within one of the UK\’s largest grocery retailers. This position is ideal for a results-oriented professional with strong experience in grocery account management and a passion for building long-lasting customer relationships. You will lead the development and execution of strategic account plans, ensuring profitable growth, effective collaboration, and alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Joint Business Plan (JBP) with a top 4 grocery account to meet sales, profit, and market share objectives.
- Lead negotiations on trading terms, pricing strategies, and promotional plans to maximize account profitability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, marketing, and category teams to ensure efficient delivery of customer plans.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to ensure sales and spend targets are met.
- Provide strategic insight into account performance, identifying growth opportunities through data analysis and market trends.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the account.
- Monitor and evaluate promotional and sales activities to ensure they align with business objectives and provide a clear ROI.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in national account management within the UK grocery sector, ideally with a top 4 retailer.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to develop and execute profitable account strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with a track record of delivering sales and profit growth.
- Experience in the chilled or short shelf-life category is advantageous.
- Degree level education or equivalent professional experience.
