As we continue to scale and enhance our portfolio performance, we are seeking a senior-level professional to lead our Building Surveying and Project Management functions across the UK and Europe.
Role PurposeThe Head of Building Surveying & Project Management will lead the strategy, delivery, and governance of all technical, building consultancy, and project management services across the portfolio. You will drive value creation through capex delivery, technical due diligence, and risk management while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the in-house Building Surveying and Project Management team across multiple geographies.
- Develop and implement the technical strategy aligned with the company’s investment and asset management objectives.
- Serve as the senior technical authority on all construction, refurbishment, and capital expenditure projects.
- Project & Programme Delivery
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of capital works, refurbishments, and major fit-out projects across retail, industrial, and office assets.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and enforce contractual obligations.
- Technical Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide expert advice on building pathology, dilapidations, and lifecycle maintenance.
- Lead technical due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, and redevelopments.
- Manage technical risk, including fire safety, compliance, and sustainability considerations.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Asset Managers, Development Managers, and Investment Teams across Europe.
- Build strong relationships with external consultants, local authorities, and internal executive leadership.
- Team Development
- Mentor, grow, and manage a high-performing team of building surveyors and project managers.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record delivering projects across a multi-asset portfolio (retail, office, industrial).
- Strong leadership experience in a senior surveying/project management role within a property company, consultancy, or client-side environment.
- In-depth knowledge of building regulations, construction law, contract administration, and technical due diligence.
- Pan-European project experience is highly desirable.
- Commercially astute, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel across the UK and Europe as required.
