Make a real impact in fire safety. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Safety Risk Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments across various properties and industries, identifying potential fire hazards, and providing practical solutions to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Identify fire hazards and evaluate the effectiveness of existing fire safety measures.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, risk levels, and recommended actions.
  • Provide practical advice and solutions to clients to address identified risks.
  • Liaise with enforcement officers and other stakeholders on behalf of clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Respond to ad-hoc fire safety queries and provide consultancy services as needed.
  • Promote fire safety services and contribute to the development of fire strategies.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments across various venue types.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation and British standards.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent professional body.

Desirable:

  • Experience within an enforcement role.
  • Health and safety qualifications (IOSH or NEBOSH).
  • Fire engineering qualifications.
  • Knowledge of the theatre or live performance sectors.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
