Role: Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Package
Our Client:
We are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s largest house builders, who are looking to appoint an experienced Engineer to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional to contribute to the success of one of the most well-established teams in the industry.
The Role:
The Engineer will support the Engineering Manager and oversee the management of several developments, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of all relevant engineering information. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with senior team members to gain experience in daily tasks
- Coordinating and managing all engineering information between external consultants and internal departments
- Reviewing engineering drawings and details for accuracy, correctness, and commercial feasibility
- Ensuring technical approvals are secured for s38 and s104 agreements
- Communicating with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met
- Applying for and securing approval from statutory bodies for Engineering Design and Ground Remediation
- Attending site visits and meetings to resolve any issues that arise during the construction process
- Participating in design meetings with highways and drainage departments to understand council requirements for new developments
- Providing engineering and technical support to site teams
- Primarily office-based with regular travel to development sites and meetings
- Flexibility in daily duties and working hours
- Core working hours
Requirements:
- Experience working in volume house building or consultancy-based roles, with AutoCAD experience being an advantage
- Practical experience performing duties typically required in an engineering role
- Degree-level qualification or HNC/HND in Construction/Engineering or equivalent experience
- CSCS card or equivalent
- Full, current UK driving licence
- Strong communication, listening, and presentation skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely
- Methodical, organized, and conscientious with a commitment to delivering high standards
- Quick problem-solving abilities and the ability to address issues effectively
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Proficient IT skills, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems
