Description of the Role & Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Head of Business Development to support the Allied World European Distribution Strategy.
  • Develop Key Broker relationships and identify growth opportunities within appetite across Open Market and Portfolio Solutions.
  • Support and develop the approach to Client Management across multiple lines of business.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally to drive in-house efficiency and promote Allied World’s capabilities.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive and support Broker performance and Business growth initiatives including Pipelining and Cross Sell.
  • Coordination and leverage of the Company’s European strategic broker partnerships.
  • Initiating new and developing existing Broker relationships aligned to Allied World’s strategy across the London, Manchester and Dublin offices.
  • Managing Broker Leadership and Line of Business meetings ensuring the involvement of appropriate personnel with a clearly defined purpose and demonstrating follow up activity.
  • Promoting Allied World products and services to Broker partners to enhance our profile.
  • Providing visibility for Broker Facility opportunities and supporting tender responses.
  • Coordination of cross-class client opportunities.
  • Attending key Broker conferences across the UK.
  • Tracking Industry news and M&A activity.

Business Growth

  • To work closely with colleagues in the London, Manchester, Dublin offices to fully understand appetite and embed Business Development.
  • Connect with Business Development & Distribution colleagues globally to stay aligned on Broker engagement/performance and share best practice.
  • Coordination of Underwriters engagement with broker pipelining and cross sell tools, including levels of usage and ensuring regular training undertaken.
  • Maintaining and evolving the European Distribution Sharepoint page to provide colleagues with access to market intelligence and broker insights.
  • Create and drive project ideas to support Business Development efforts.
  • Work with the MI and Data team to continuously review and develop Business Development MI and Dashboards.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team – Content, Announcements, Events, Conferences.
  • Compliance with all internal processes and maintaining up-to-date records.

Person Specification

  • Strong account/relationship management experience.
  • Highly organised with planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team.
  • An enthusiastic individual who is committed to a career in the insurance industry.
  • Be able to demonstrate outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.
  • Professional Insurance Designation such as DipCII/ACII desirable.
