We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV 1 CONTAINER DRIVER to join our team. You will be required to carry out container deliveries utilising London Gateway docks, hence needing a Rhides and DP World card. This is a tramping job; you must be able to do nights out!
Duties:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement.
- Plan routes and follow delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and documentation.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Commercial driving experience preferred.
- DCPC CARD.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
