Harvey Mcqueen are excited to present an excellent job opportunity for our client seeking a Senior Qualified Management Accountant. This role sits within the Finance team supporting and assisting the Financial Controller to ensure the day to day smooth running of the finance department. The role has direct reports from the Finance team. A key requirement of the role is that regular 1:1s are arranged with the team with the aim of continuously enhancing the quality of the outputs from the team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review Edge (in house system) to ensure that all funds have been allocated and processed correctly - raise any issues to relevant departments.
- Monitor SAGE Financial System - to ensure all funds received are correctly allocated and required postings are completed.
- Check all monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts are completed.
- Manage balance sheets including monthly balance sheet reconciliations - including the prepayment, accrual & FA.
- Ensure all invoices are posted on SAGE and payment runs are completed.
- Check and monitor the remit process daily for all clients.
- Understand all EAs commission calculations, and cover the Finance & Commission Assistants.
- Assist in the timely submission of the annual appraisals for the finance team.
- Submit day to day HR requirements for the finance team.
- Ensure all monthly VAT invoices are prepared as per the requirement of the various key clients.
- Provide cover during absences and holidays or during times of high transaction volume.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions of all statutory requirements across all businesses including VAT, PAYE & National Statistics returns.
- Assist with the year end audit and timely response to audit queries.
- Other ad-hoc tasks/projects as required.
- Deputise for the Group Financial Controller as required.
- Work closely and provide support to Trainee Management Accountant and Finance Assistants.
- Check and authorise bank payments for daily remits and BACS runs.
Essential Skills:
- CIMA Qualified or QBE.
- Experience working in a finance role/department.
- Good knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Strong management capabilities.
- Good time management, organisational and planning skills - ability to prioritise work and meet reporting deadlines.
- Highly organised.
- Proactive.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships across the business.
- Must be highly professional at all times.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced organisation.
- High level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills / Experience:
- Working knowledge of SAGE programmes.
- Over 2 years experience working within a similar finance role/department.
