The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
The Opportunity: In this role you will be a trusted manager and advisor to the SLT and wider business who builds respect from and collaboration with colleagues, leads by example, and is hands on with all key Environmental and H&S issues. You will have direct access to the CEO with whom you will be working on a regular basis and you will be responsible for Health and Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance function, leading and taking action on all HSE activities. This includes developing and implementing the company’s HSE policy through establishing safe practices and procedures and ensuring adoption and adherence.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven background in implementing and driving HSE strategy across CDM, Process and Occupational fields and improving HSE KPIs.
- Responsibilities as head of will include strategic drivers, KPI leadership and management, site observations at AD sites.
- You must have Environmental knowledge, AD/Waste permitting etc. this is essential for the role and not negotiable.
- Effective leadership of own team, communication with wider team and a conscientious and inspiring approach at all levels of organisations.
- Environmental permitting and audits, as well as versant with LPA application submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to implement integrated management systems like PAS 99, ISO 14001, 45001 with strong knowledge of ISO auditing standards.
- Undertake regular site visits to promote close relationships with site staff, one-to-one visibility of the HSE team and a collaborative approach to HSE.
- Longer term, ensure that the management of Environmental permitting activities meet the requirements of the business by ensuring efficient and effective internal processes.
- Work with finance team to develop budgets and timelines for applications on selected sites.
- Take a pre-emptive approach to identifying HSE issues at client’s sites and ensure good communication amongst the team to resolve swiftly and efficiently.
- Implement and collaborate on the Integrated ISO Management System for ongoing HSE compliance.
- Assess and improve overall compliance with ISO standards, aligning with responsibility and accountability for actions.
- Quality knowledge is desirable for this role but isn’t essential.
