Brief Description

As the Programme Manager [Building], you will lead a team in the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Works, and Minor Emerging Works (MEW) for Operational Property assets across the North West and Central region, spanning from Stoke/Crewe to Gretna. The value of these high-volume, low-complexity works exceeds £20m annually and includes the management of key stations such as Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly.

About the role (External)

The challenge is to lead the delivery of these services via internal Artisan teams and external supply chain partners, ensuring compliance with regulations, extending the life of assets, achieving response/rectification times, and demonstrating cost efficiency. This requires a background in buildings, operational property, facilities management, asset management, or construction., 1. Develop and deliver a specific programme of buildings and facilities work on time, within budget, and in accordance with corporate success criteria.

  1. Establish effective relationships with clients to support the delivery of operational property services, including managing performance measurement and change.

  2. Lead and manage the programme team (including external suppliers), ensuring resources are available to maintain a flexible, skilled, and effective workforce at all times.

  3. Achieve programme outturn and margins as agreed with the Senior Programme Manager.

  4. Develop strategies for the delivery of asset management and facilities programme scopes.

  5. Identify opportunities within the programme and promote best practices between projects.

  6. Ensure planning considers cross-programme needs and meets contracted obligations.

  7. Undertake accident investigations as required by the designated competent person.

  8. Implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives across the operational property programme.

  9. Lead and inspire the team to meet business objectives, maintaining high engagement.

  10. Comply with company procedures to ensure appropriate resources, communication, training, and competency to safely deliver objectives.

  11. Act upon and discharge all Construction Design Management (CDM) obligations for projects as directed.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a buildings or facilities management environment.

  • Experience in the management of operational property, asset management, or construction projects.

  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and project safety management skills.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, environmental best practices, and the principles of investment processes.

  • Experience in accident investigation and implementing safety management systems.
