About the Role

We are a family-run, independent free house in the heart of Alcester, known for our creative, fresh food menu blending American BBQ, Korean-inspired dishes, and classic pub favourites. Our menu changes regularly, using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, and we take pride in delivering bold flavours in a welcoming, food-led environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate and supportive team in a proper food-focused pub with a loyal following and a reputation for quality.

The Position

We are looking for a Sous Chef (or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up) to join our small but well-established kitchen brigade. Working alongside a Michelin-trained Head Chef, you'll be part of a hands-on team delivering high standards and seasonal, evolving menus in a fast-paced yet rewarding kitchen. You'll have real input into menu creation, a great work-life balance, and the chance to develop your skills in an independent pub that values creativity and quality over corporate processes.

  • £28,000 - £32,000 salary (depending on experience)
  • 37-40 hour working week - typically finished by 9:30 PM
  • Split and straight shifts available
  • 28 days holiday
  • Consistent rota with at least one weekend day off where possible
  • Opportunity to learn from a Michelin-trained Head Chef
  • Friendly, long-standing team with a family-run feel
  • Mentorship, creativity, and real progression opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years' experience in a fresh food kitchen
  • Ideally someone who has worked in gastropubs, independent venues, or similar
  • Passion for food - particularly BBQ and/or Korean-style cuisine
  • A hands-on chef who enjoys working in a small team and making a real impact
  • A natural team player who's calm under pressure and thrives in a busy service
