ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a creative, analytical Buyer to join our team in Marlow who will own the day-to-day category management and buying of our products across Home & Brand, there will be a requirement for clothing buys also. You will be responsible for selecting, purchasing, and managing the products we offer to our customers. You’ll work closely with suppliers, monitor market trends, calculate buys and manage in-bound delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and manage product assortments based on customer demand and sales data.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Ensure inventory levels are optimised to meet customer demand without overstocking.
- Ensure product is compliant with UK and EU regulations and fit for sale.
- Monitor product performance, adjusting strategies based on sales and feedback.
- Collaborate with warehouse team and manage customer service team.
CANDIDATES MUST DEMONSTRATE
- Proven track record as a Buyer in the retail industry – min. 2 years’ buyer experience.
- Maintaining supplier relationships.
- Budget management experience.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- A strong understanding of retail operations and supply chain management.
- An average understanding of technical requirements of products.
- Intermediate+ skills using Microsoft Office which include Word and Excel.
- Enthusiastic attitude and team player.
