Location of post: Residential unit and Enhanced Assessment units at Ann Marie Howes Care Centre in Sheldon
The main role and responsibilities of a Second Chef is to support the professional catering lead within the Care Centre by ensuring that catering services of the highest quality are provided to residents and other users including a daily restaurant service; delivering high customer satisfaction on a consistent basis over 7 days.
To support the professional catering lead to develop menus to meet National Nutritional Standards that respond to individual choices, needs and promotes well being. Ensuring that meals are nutritionally balanced and meet the needs of service users.
Residential Units at each centre consist of 32 beds and they provide services to citizens who need long-term care and support. These units provide personal care and bespoke meaningful activities for the residents. All the festive seasons are also celebrated and enjoyed with our citizens and their families and friends.
In Anne Marie Howes residents enjoy the beautiful gardens and water features surrounding the centre. The centre consists of 24 residential beds for older adults with dementia alongside an 8 bed Enhanced Assessment (EAB) unit which accommodates 8 citizens who are medically fit but need on going rehabilitation before they can move back to their own homes from hospitals.
The rehabilitation programmes at EAB are supported by care assistants under supervision of senior care staff and therapists.
The Enhanced Assessment (EAB) unit at Anne Marie Howes consists of 8 beds.
The main role and responsibilities of a Second Chef is to support the professional catering lead within the Care Centre by ensuring that catering services of the highest quality are provided to residents and other users including a daily restaurant service; delivering high customer satisfaction on a consistent basis over 7 days.
To support the professional catering lead to develop menus to meet National Nutritional Standards that respond to individual choices, needs and promotes well being. Ensuring that meals are nutritionally balanced and meet the needs of service users.
To support the professional catering lead to provide leadership to the catering team which will ensure that it is able to be responsive to the enablement and preventative agenda and to the vision and development of the centre including cooking demonstrations, events and functions.
Due to the nature of this job, staff are required to work on a rota which includes late and early shifts and weekends and bank holidays.
