This is an excellent opportunity to join Boyes Turner’s highly regarded Personal Injury team, which represents Claimants with serious injuries and asbestos-related diseases. The role involves providing vital support to senior fee earners, assisting with complex cases, and engaging with clients. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in PI and industrial disease litigation while contributing to the team’s casework, research, and marketing efforts. This position is ideal for someone eager to develop their legal career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Experience/Attributes required:
- Previous experience in Claimant PI or asbestos work is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of PI and disease law and its application is desirable.
- Eager to learn and develop in the field of PI and Industrial Disease.
- Comfortable speaking to clients on the telephone.
- Ability to work unsupervised when necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent keyboard skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Work type:
- Handling initial enquiries from clients.
- Assisting senior fee earners with complex PI and mesothelioma/asbestos disease cases.
- Managing correspondence and drafting legal documents, including court forms.
- Preparing court bundles.
- Conducting research, including defendant company research.
- Drafting documents such as care statements, Part 8 proceedings, restoring companies to the Company Register.
- Assisting the team with marketing – managing social media platforms, writing articles, attending charity meetings and events.
- General administrative tasks on case files.
- Ensuring file management, case management, and administration are kept up to date using iManage, Elite, MatterSphere, PDF Docs, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook 365.
