Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per year.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to join their ever-expanding team.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Quality Engineer:

  • Conduct in-depth inspections of installed electrical systems: LV/MV switchgear, tap off units, distribution panels, busbars, and control units.
  • Verify correct installation methods per British Standards, IEC Standards and other relevant standards, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Sign-off installed systems post-verification, ensuring compliance with both technical standards and customer specifications.
  • Act as the on-site technical liaison for contractors, installers, and customers.
  • Lead inspection and testing of electrical components and assemblies during in-house production.
  • Audit supplier installation practices and electrical build quality.
  • Ensure compliance documentation (DoCs, certifications, risk assessments) are accurate and audit ready.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Project Manager, and Commercial teams to align technical expectations and field realities.
  • Maintain professional, tactful communication in high-pressure scenarios, using patience, and conflict resolution techniques to manage challenging customers or disputes effectively.
  • Provide on-site rapid response for urgent electrical failures or system malfunctions, including immediate diagnostics, customer reassurance, and follow-up corrective actions.

Requirements of the Electrical Quality Engineer:

  • Degree / HND / HNC in Electrical Engineering.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing certification.
  • 5+ years in field-based electrical inspection, commissioning, or technical support.
  • Proficient with electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and system layouts.
  • Hands-on use of electrical test tools: insulation testers, thermal cameras, loop impedance testers, etc.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Experience managing commercial relationships with customers, subcontractors and distributors.
  • Willingness to travel and work independently on-site.
