Part of the HENI group since 2016, Prudence Cuming was established in 1967 as a photographic studio specialising in fine art. Prudence Cuming works with museums, institutions, artists, designers and private collectors, and has a wealth of experience photographing objects ranging from paintings to sculpture and luxury goods. Prudence Cuming provides a complete and bespoke photographic service, including photography, filming, retouching, 3D Design, scanning and digital printing.

We are looking for a talented and versatile Videographer to join our busy team – this is a great opportunity to shape a brand-new position from the ground up. While the role largely involves close-up videography, we encourage applications from candidates with broad skillsets (such as photography or visual storytelling) as there are various areas where this person may add value and provide fresh perspectives. This role will be based in central London, either at our studio in Mayfair or on location. There will also be occasional travel, domestically and internationally (once or twice a year).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
  • Creating high-quality videography, with a focus on macro videography of intricate subjects like jewellery and fine art, as well as producing walk-throughs of exhibition spaces and conducting interviews.
  • Comfortable in filming fine art, sculpture, antiques, and jewellery from London's best galleries and museums, with a keen focus on attention to detail, care, and quality.
  • Overseeing the planning, development, filming, and editing of each project, efficiently managing multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for all filming needs, leading the art direction and creative vision for each brief, and advising on suitable equipment and production methods.
  • Pioneering innovative filming techniques, offering creative input on new technologies and approaches to enhance production quality.
  • Representing the company on location shoots, building strong client relationships, and maintaining Prudence’s esteemed reputation for excellence.
Staff Development
  • Researching and proposing new technologies to improve quality, integration into Prudence Cuming’s workflow.
  • Responsibility for completion and submission of weekly timesheets accurately and to deadlines.
  • To determine and agree objectives for the year ahead with direct line manager at an annual appraisal. To review performance towards meeting the agreed objectives with direct line manager at the 6-month mark as a minimum.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with internal cross-functional teams (e.g. Finance, HR, senior management etc.)
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • At least 5 years of commercial experience, preferably some prior experience as part of a small team or studio.
  • Videography portfolio demonstrating a wide range of skills – close ups of products & jewellery, and interiors would be particularly relevant.
  • Exceptional macro videography skills with a deep technical understanding of filming equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex shoots from start to finish.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and coordinating multiple projects.
  • Keen eye for detail and composition. Proactive and enjoys problem-solving.
  • A valid driving license would be advantageous.
  • Flexible approach - may involve work outside of core hours or other ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Keen to learn and willingness to take on more responsibilities.
