Start date 16th June 2025
Fun, rewarding and with the opportunity to develop and grow your career. That’s life with L&C Mortgages, the UK’s leading fee free mortgage and protection broker with over 160 awards to its name. Join us and you’ll be part of a business that takes your progress seriously and wants you to enjoy being part of the L&C family.
Right now, we’re expanding our Newcastle office and taking on Trainee Mortgage Advisers. This is your chance to get in on that growth.
The role involves mortgaging or remortgaging a property, providing crucial advice to home buyers and homeowners. You’ll scope out the best mortgage options through listening to customers’ stories and circumstances, fully documenting these with the help of L&C’s technology and coming up with a solution that meets their needs and satisfies regulatory rules and standards.
We expect a quality and compliant service for our customers and this performance will be monitored. You will need to determine whether customers will be best served by a fixed-term or variable mortgage, and what options they may require.
There will be administrative work along the way but, above all, it’s about building rapport and trust with customers to deliver compliant deals that work for them.
L&C is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and classified as an “Enhanced Firm” under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role will fall into the “Certification and Conduct” elements of the regime. You will be required to attest to your integrity, competence and financial soundness on an initial and regular basis if you’re successful in your application.
About you: We are looking for candidates that have customer service experience and a great work ethic. You should have honed your listening skills and developed a sense of empathy. You will need serious organising and prioritising skills, solid IT skills, and a team-focused approach.
Why join L&C? Working at L&C means being part of an environment steeped in respect and equity. The standard of training is high, and there are ample opportunities to progress.
Joining L&C means having the chance to enrol on an in-depth induction programme and gain a CeMap, LIBF qualification upon passing the exam.
