About the role…

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated researcher with strong expertise in cell biology interested in developing novel more sensitive screening approaches for molecular glue identification to accelerate drug discovery in the targeted protein degradation field. The Schreiber lab is part of the Prosperity Partnership between the Francis Crick Institute, AstraZeneca and Imperial College London which is focused on developing a rule book for the rational discovery of molecular glue degraders. We are studying how autophagy and the ubiquitin proteasome system can be utilized to target a wide range of currently undruggable disease relevant targets (e.g. protein aggregates and damaged mitochondria). The ultimate aim is to unlock novel biology and exploit its revolutionary therapeutic potential.

Dependent on funding, there is potential for this role to be extended after the initial contract term.

  2. Contribute to other projects within the lab on a collaborative basis
  3. Provide organisational and administrative expertise for this multi-disciplinary lab

About you…

You will bring…

  1. PhD in molecular and/or cellular biology, biochemistry, biophysics or related disciplines, or in the final stages of PhD submission.
  2. Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture
  3. Experience in developing quantitative high-throughput screening approaches in cells
  4. Expertise in studying protein interactions preferably in cells
  5. Excellent organisational skills, thorough record-keeping and attention to detail
  6. Good communication, presentation, and data analysis skills
