Bespoke Britannia has an excellent opportunity for an experienced House Manager to help run multiple private households based both in London and internationally. As the House Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation of multiple residences and vehicles across various international locations. This includes coordinating all staff travel, logistics, and household preparations for the Principal and his guests. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. You will report to the Executive Assistant of the Principal on a daily basis and to the Principal himself on a regular basis.

Job Role

  • Planning: You will need to prepare and execute comprehensive operation plans for all departments in the house regarding maintenance, repair, sanitation, energy conservation, and staff uniforms. You will also have responsibility for financial planning including salary administration.
  • Organizing: You will be involved in the recruitment and selection process of staff. The ability to implement staff objectives pertaining to functional responsibilities, performance planning, and staff reviews to ensure that the house is running efficiently. You will ensure all homes are prepared for family stays or guest visits, with attention to detail for catering, cleaning, and overall presentation. You will also make sure that all vehicles are maintained and ready for use.
  • Administration: You will set clear guidelines for staff, schedule meetings, and keep open lines of communication. The House Manager is also responsible for documents such as accounting work, month-end reports, and ad-hoc admin tasks. You will also be responsible for processing staff expenses, tracking budgets, and ensuring timely payment of staff salaries.
  • Staff Coordination: Manage household staff and liaise with the Principal's executive team, creating and maintaining staff rosters, vacation schedules, and ensuring adequate security and any other third-party personnel when required. Management of all household staff in all locations ensuring equality of treatment and consistent high standards of all staff service.

Package

The client is offering a long-term PAYE role for the right candidate, up to £80,000 DOE. Hours will be arranged with the Principal; more hours will be required when the family are home, while the majority of the year will require much less due to the family's movements. Immediate start available for the right person. Great work-life balance. There is no accommodation supplied; you will need to live within commutable distance of Mayfair.

Candidate Requirements

  • You must hold a professional management qualification and have been working in a similar role managing a large private household.
  • You must hold a current DBS or be willing to obtain one.
  • Strong administration and communication skills are essential to this role.
  • We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has the ability to manage their own workload, and manage a team of upwards of twenty staff at any one time.
  • You will also need to have the flexibility to adapt to different work patterns and be able to travel internationally at short notice when required.
