Mechanical Design Engineer / MEP Design / Building services

This highly regarded consultancy provides complex mechanical, electrical, public health, and sustainable engineering solutions to a broad range of projects. Projects range from large new-builds, renovations and fit-outs, to bespoke environmental designs that result in more efficient buildings.The range of work is wide covering all sectors including commercial, education, residential and health care.

This role is ideal for someone who likes to take responsibility for their own projects.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

• Mechanical services design including but not limited to heating, cooling, ventilation, hot and cold water systems and above ground drainage.
• Preparation and development of concept, feasibility and detailed design proposals, which include specifications, drawings, calculations
• Thermal modelling and energy calculations using one of the following, IES or TAS
• Attend meetings with clients, other professional design team members and contractors
• Strong technical expertise within mechanical building services design, gained working within the UK building services industry for either a consultancy or contractor
• Knowledge of UK design legislation and guidance

Qualifications & Attributes

• A minimum of 4 – 5 years’ Mechanical services design experience in the UK
• IES or TAS software knowledge
• Minimum HNC/HND level in building services or mechanical engineering or degree equivalent
• A desire to work in a friendly SME environment
• Able to handle several ongoing projects at various stages
