Ryder Reid Legal is looking to recruit an experienced and innovative Senior Marketing Manager to join one of our prestigious, international law firm clients in London. The Senior Marketing Manager will report to the firm’s Director of Business Development and London Office Managing Partner/Marketing Partner and will be supported by a Business Development & Marketing Specialist.
This position provides dedicated support to certain London-based practices and partners, including Antitrust & Competition, Asset Management, Business Reorganisation & Restructuring, International Arbitration, Litigation and Tax, among others. Specifically, the person in this role will collaborate with each partner to expand their book of business and raise their profile.
The general duties of the position include:
- Developing collaborative professional relationships with all stakeholders; drawing on a thorough understanding of the business and client development goals and priorities, providing value-add input and recommendations on client development projects.
- Liaising with the Communications and broader Marketing team on marketing efforts, including media relations, awards and rankings, positioning attorneys for thought leadership, social media and website content, digital marketing and visual branding.
- Developing and project managing RFP/RFI responses, tailored pitches and similar efforts, including drafting new content, and identifying relevant capabilities and experience.
- Working with partners to produce engaging client events that demonstrate the firm’s strengths, including developing targeted invitee lists and supporting networking and follow-up; providing support related to conferences, sponsorships, industry memberships and similar efforts to maximise the client development ROI.
- Managing the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral material, including template pitch decks, practice/industry/geography descriptions, brochures, flyers, experience lists, tombstones and related materials, in collaboration with the firm’s Graphics function as needed and consistent with firm brand guidelines.
- Managing the directory submission process, including the development of compelling submissions, identifying relevant matters, working with attorneys to identify appropriate references, prepping partners for interviews, leveraging results, etc.
Desirable knowledge and skills include:
- 6 years+ relevant experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong writing skills, including experience drafting pitches, responses to RFPs/RFIs, practice descriptions and other marketing collateral.
- Very strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisation – must be able to work in a thorough, diligent and proactive manner.
- Process-oriented with strong time and project management skills; ability to prioritise and work within tight deadlines.
- Must demonstrate reliability and build trust through consistent performance and responsiveness with attorneys, fellow team members and the wider firm.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills by connecting information across various platforms and providing value-added input.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues and with all levels of firm personnel.
- Knowledge of third-party databases such as CapitalIQ, Lex Machina, Preqin and Pitchbook.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is essential; knowledge of Vuture and Interaction is strongly preferred.
Hybrid working policy: Our client operates a hybrid working policy that requires presence in the office a minimum of 4 days a week.
