Reed Maidstone is working with a well-established practice who are looking to add a Senior Accountant to their growing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for career growth, with prospects of advancing to Director level. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing high-quality accountancy and tax advice, managing client relationships, and overseeing the tax return compliance process.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for accountancy and tax queries.
  • Manage the processing of quarterly VAT returns, management accounts, year-end accounts, and account reconciliations.
  • Attend meetings with clients for planning and research and maintain ongoing communication.
  • Handle Inland Revenue and Companies House queries effectively.
  • Produce high-quality documentation in line with in-house branding.
  • Assist in managing and training the Accounts Senior.
  • Provide analysis and forecast financial reporting, advising on potential issues, trends, and improvements.
  • Assist with the tax return compliance process, including collating, preparing, submitting, and reviewing individual and company tax returns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACCA or ACA qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working understanding of corporation and personal tax.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as CCH, Xero, and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
