Driver Hire Stockport are currently recruiting for a 7.5T Driver to work for one of our clients in the Stockport area. Our client is a food wholesaler, a local family-run business that has been supplying the restaurant trade in the North West for over 25 years. This is an ongoing role and our client is looking for someone to work 3-4 days a week, with shift patterns either being Tuesday-Friday or Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, starting at 7am. Please note that for the right candidate, a full-time position will be offered.

The right candidate will receive full training due to the nature of the role, whereby they will assist a trained driver. The job requires someone who can manually handle goods as there could be heavy lifting involved. There will be 15-20 drops a day with a mixture of caged goods and items that require carrying off; on some days, you may be assisted by a second person.

Duties of this 7.5T Driver will include:

  • Driving the 7.5T vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws
  • Carrying out required daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance
  • Maintaining regular contact with Branch Managers on daily progress
  • Completing paperwork accurately as instructed

Our HGV 7.5T Driver must have:

  • C1 (Category C1 - HGV 7.5T Driver)
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's
  • Must have 6 months relevant driving experience
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Able to work to tight deadlines

PAY RATES: £15.13 per hour and £20.12 per hour overtime (paid after 8 hours). Please note that this pay includes holiday rate; for holidays to be paid separately, the pay rate would be £13.50 per hour and £17.95 per hour overtime (paid after 8 hours). You can also have your holidays accrued on top of this to increase your hourly rate.
