Our client is a global leader in educational publishing and digital learning solutions, partnering with universities to support teaching and learning across a range of disciplines. They provide high-quality content and innovative courseware to help educators and students achieve their goals.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Representative will engage with Higher Education institutions across the North East of England, for a 12 month fixed term period, building relationships with university staff to understand their needs and provide tailored print and digital solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying opportunities, delivering product demonstrations, managing sales proposals, and supporting institutions in transitioning to digital learning.
- Executing the account strategy to optimise sales of digital and print products in Higher Education institutions within the designated territory.
- Identifying and prioritising target modules in key accounts.
- Promoting products to Module Leaders, Course Directors, and Heads of Departments.
- Supporting institutions in transitioning from print products to digital services.
- Ensuring timely delivery of digital products to modules.
- Encouraging effective use of products, increasing digital registrations and managing print returns.
- Driving growth in key accounts year on year.
- Analysing pipeline data and other sales insights to guide Account Team activities.
- Preparing and delivering accurate sales proposals at the module level.
- Conducting negotiations to secure agreements and finalise sales.
- Delivering engaging product demonstrations aligned with teaching and learning needs.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of contacts, calls, and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Using CRM insights for sales planning, territory management, market analysis, and forecasting.
- Providing regular sales reports as required by the Regional Sales Manager and senior leadership.
- Collaborating with colleagues across sales and other functions to develop long-term, high-quality engagements in key accounts to support institution-wide sales.
Skills and experience required:
- Degree-level education (preferred) or equivalent experience, with a focus on achieving targets and performance goals.
- Experience in delivering results in a competitive sales environment.
- Motivated, customer-focused, and committed to high standards.
- Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a collaborative approach aligned with team and organisational objectives.
