Our client is a well-established freight forwarder offering a hands-on approach to all our clients ensuring working partnerships are built and maintained throughout the course of projects and beyond. The specialist sea freight division offers dedicated LCL (Less than Container Load) and FCL (Full Container Load) sea freight services to and from Europe, USA, Far East and Middle East as well as expert freight forwarding services.
We are now recruiting for the Customs Team, a Freight Customs Specialist to handle the Sea, Trailer and some Air freight customs needs for my client. In this position you will hold ultimate responsibility for the following duties / tasks:
- Provide an outstanding level of customer service to both internal & external clients
- Handling sea and trailer freight in the main with some air freight customs clearances using the CDS clearance system
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of import and export customs declarations
- Ensure correct payment of duty & VAT
- Manage the release of consignments at port
- All aspects of CFSP & Customs Warehousing
- Manage post clearance action
Applying candidates will possess:
- Experience from working for a freight forwarder in a customs freight role
- A broad understanding of the overall customs process
- Knowledge of Import and Export Clearance systems such as CDS/Descartes/Chief/ASM/CNS/Destin8/BoxTop
- Knowledge of the customs tariff
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional IT skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual
- Strong organisational & time management skills
Benefits:
