Business Analyst (12 month FTC)

The Role

The Business Services Project Delivery Team at Howden is made up of project management and business analysis professionals who work together with business units to deliver programmes and projects that align with Howden Group Holdings\’ growth strategies.

As a business analyst, you\’ll provide analytical services like requirements engineering, process modelling, and data analysis on various projects. You\’ll act as a bridge between business units, internal development teams, IT Infrastructure, and third-party suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.

This is a remote based, 12 month contract.

What You\’ll Be Doing

• Analyse the current intranet, teamwork, and communications technology across the group.
• Document and manage the \”as is\” technology state and associated requirements.
• Conduct needs assessments and gap analysis for Viva Engage rollout, Global Intranet rollout, and Collaboration.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology suppliers.
• Manage existing and future requirements with suppliers.
• Assist solutions architects and feasibility assessments.
• Support activities during build, migration, and test phases.
• Provide quality business analysis services to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Facilitate communication between various parties within and external to Howden Holdings Group.
• Resolve project issues and escalate as needed.
• Gather and analyse requirements for strategic and operational projects.
• Plan, handle, and run workshops, interviews, and prototyping sessions to elicit requirements.
• Build and maintain requirements documentation.
• Lead scope and requirements changes during implementation.
• Produce requirements appendices such as use cases, process diagrams, and technical specifications.

Who We\’re Looking For

• Proven experience in the insurance sector and applications support.
• Hands-on experience with helpdesk systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft O365, Teams, Viva Engage, SharePoint, and collaboration products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate sophisticated technical requirements into understandable business terms.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Demonstrable ability to process work quickly and efficiently.
• Strong prioritisation skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Confidence in engaging with partners at various levels.
• Outstanding skills in Microsoft Office and Visio products.
• Knowledge of workflow design and implementation.
• Experience with process modelling techniques (e.g., BPMN, UML, data modelling).
• Familiarity with MoSCoW, SWOT, PESTLE, RACI Charts, and stakeholder mapping.
• Ability to work in both waterfall and Agile project environments.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in managing large amounts of data and presenting it as summarised business information.

Qualifications

• You are likely to be educated to degree level in a relevant field (e.g., Computing, Information Technology, or Business).
