We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Transportation Team. Within this role, you can enjoy a competitive salary and annual holiday entitlement with opportunities to buy/sell leave, a huge range of deals and discounts at many of your favourite brands. Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £23,000 to £28,000 dependent on experience and qualifications (weekly paid)
ResponsibilitiesAs a Highways Maintenance Operative, you'll be working as part of a team to carry out highway maintenance duties as well as winter maintenance and emergency response when required. Your day to day will include:
- Part of the response team, promptly dealing with incidents on the highways network.
- Carry out a wide variety of maintenance activities including Gully Cleansing, Winter Maintenance salt spreading, Traffic Management, Grass cutting, fencing, and other activities to keep the highway network operational.
- Work closely with team members to actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of Health and Safety compliance.
- You will be required to work nights and days and participate in out of hours rotas for emergency response.
Basic salary is based on working 40 contracted hours on days; overtime will be paid for additional hours. An uplift will be paid for working nights and weekends. Standby Payments will be paid for Emergency callout and winter maintenance standbys.
