Design safer systems. Prevent major incidents. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Safety Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing & design reviews, HAZOP studies, incident investigation and mitigating process hazards to ensure the safety and reliability in manufacturing and process industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive HAZID & HAZOP studies, risk assessments (FMECA/FMEA, FTA etc.) and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential safety risks in processes.
- LoPA and SIL assessments
- Develop and implement process safety management systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Design, maintain, and review safety-critical systems and equipment.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure safety measures are integrated into all operations.
- Provide technical safety support and guidance across the organization.
- Analyse incident reports and system failures to identify areas for improvement and prevent recurrences.
- Develop and deliver training programs on process safety practices.
- Stay current on new laws and regulations affecting process safety and interpret them for company officials.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Advanced degrees in chemical engineering, safety engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience in process safety engineering, including hazard assessment and control.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, chemical hazards, and occupational health standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent professional qualification.
Desirable:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of ergonomic principles and practices.
- Experience with health and safety training programs.
