Design safer systems. Prevent major incidents. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Safety Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing & design reviews, HAZOP studies, incident investigation and mitigating process hazards to ensure the safety and reliability in manufacturing and process industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive HAZID & HAZOP studies, risk assessments (FMECA/FMEA, FTA etc.) and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential safety risks in processes.
  • LoPA and SIL assessments
  • Develop and implement process safety management systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Design, maintain, and review safety-critical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure safety measures are integrated into all operations.
  • Provide technical safety support and guidance across the organization.
  • Analyse incident reports and system failures to identify areas for improvement and prevent recurrences.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on process safety practices.
  • Stay current on new laws and regulations affecting process safety and interpret them for company officials.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Advanced degrees in chemical engineering, safety engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in process safety engineering, including hazard assessment and control.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, chemical hazards, and occupational health standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent professional qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of ergonomic principles and practices.
  • Experience with health and safety training programs.

  • Willingness to travel and work at various sites as required.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
