DIRECTOR OF GROUP FINANCIAL REPORTING
- Essential – Financial Services + External Reporting + Change + Leadership

Pear Talent is representing a global FTSE100 Financial Services business who have a new opportunity for a Director of Group Financial Reporting. Reporting to the Group FC/CFO you’ll lead a substantial team delivering all key financial and regulatory reporting, ESG/Climate reporting and continued future climate initiative development, manage and enhance financial control framework, as well as being a key contributor to a major group-wide Finance change programme. You'll manage a large team (x40) across multiple locations with 4x heads of departments reporting into you, as well as regularly partnering with Exec/Board/NED stakeholders and both attending and presenting at Audit Committees etc.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead the delivery of the Group’s consolidated financial (IFRS) and regulatory reporting (Solvency II), ensuring consistency between the figures and the messages included in the Annual Report, the Analyst Pack, and the SFCR.
- Lead the production of the Group’s ESG non-financial reporting, including the Climate, Nature and Social Impact reports. Also oversee the development and implementation of new ISSB reporting requirements.
- Lead the oversight of the Group Finance Risk Committee, managing operational risk across Group Finance as well as own the Financial Control Framework.
- Significant interaction with Group/divisional CFOs/ExCo stakeholders internally, as well as managing the external audit relationship.
- Work closely with Investor Relations to support external results announcements and subsequent queries.
- Actively challenge the status-quo of Finance processes and systems, exploring and delivering potential improvements.
- Oversee the production of papers for various Board, Audit Committee meetings, attending and presenting at such.
- Support the development of new reporting metrics with the help of the Head of Accounting Policy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal/external stakeholders, building upon strong existing working relationships.
- Ensure that the appropriate Finance MI, process, and systems are in place to provide support to the business
- Lead mentor and develop a large multi-site team of x40.
Required experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience gained in a large complex/listed Financial Services company
- Proven track record of managing significant external financial (IFRS) and regulatory reporting processes for a large complex/listed group
- Experience of managing/improving large scale financial reporting controls frameworks
- Experience of leading and delivering large-scale finance change projects
- Prior experience as a functional lead, having led significant sized teams, with the ability to develop managers of teams
- Excellent stakeholder manager adept at building effective relationships at an Exec/Board/NED level across large matrix organisation
- Able to work effectively across departments and experience of managing multi-location teams
- Strong presentation skills and people skills, good influence
