Our client, a materials and aggregates provider, is seeking a dedicated General Operative / Counter Balance FLT Operator to join their team on a contract basis, able to offer ongoing work as manufacturing operations ramp up over the summer period. Permanent work may also be available at the end of the contract (Temp to Perm).
In this role, you will be working in different areas of the manufacturing plant, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment, moving raw materials, mixing and producing new materials, as well as dispatching and storing finished products.
Applicable candidates will have experience in a similar environment as well as a manual handling certificate. Candidates with a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence are also highly preferred as there will be a requirement to operate a forklift truck as and when required, to move and store larger quantities of material.
Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Moving and loading raw material to match daily production needs.
- Storing finished products in an organised manner.
- Performing manual labour (manual handling), including shovelling materials.
- Ensuring a tidy, clear and safe workspace at all times, sweeping areas and general cleaning/tidying.
- Deep cleaning of production facilities, as required.
- AdHoc duties including general site maintenance.
- Operating Counterbalance Forklift Truck as required.
- Promoting and adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
Candidates will ideally:
- Have previously worked in a similar role as a General Operative and Counter Balance FLT Driver.
- Hold a Manual Handling certificate.
- Hold a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence, as well as previous experience.
- Be happy working as part of a team, in a physical role.
- Have strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- Good general knowledge of Health and Safety.
- A safety critical medical is not required, but is advantageous.
