Our customer, a leading global tech organization is seeking a Data Privacy Lawyer to design and implement a comprehensive Data Compliance and Privacy Strategy. This initiative will support the organization by ensuring alignment with international and local data regulations, as well as upcoming frameworks like the EU AI Act. The role would include conducting a comprehensive audit, delivering a maturity and gap analysis, and developing a phased roadmap that embeds data compliance and privacy governance into the business's operational fabric.

Scope of Work
- Data Compliance and Privacy Audit & Gap Analysis
- Conduct a global audit of the current data compliance and privacy landscape
- Identify gaps in existing guidelines and policies, with a specific focus on:
- GDPR
- Relevant local and regional regulations (e.g., CCPA, LGPD)
- AI governance and emerging technologies
- Third-party data risk
- Develop a risk profile and prioritize mitigation actions across different business units and regions.
- Deliver expert recommendations to create a comprehensive privacy governance framework that aligns compliance with business agility.
- Propose best practices for:
- Consent management
- Data access and retention
- Encryption protocols
- Secure third-party data sharing
Critical Focus Areas
- Regulatory and Legal Compliance: Ensure alignment with GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and the EU AI Act. Evaluate the implications of cross-border data transfers.
- Data Governance & Risk Management: Conduct a thorough risk analysis across data lifecycle stages: collection, storage, access, processing, deletion, and reporting. Recommend and prioritize mitigation strategies.
- AI and Emerging Technologies: Advise on ethical, legal, and privacy considerations for AI systems. Define governance for AI transparency, accountability, and compliance monitoring.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience delivering global data compliance strategies.
- In-depth understanding of GDPR, global privacy regulations, and AI regulatory frameworks.
- Capability to operate across complex, multi-regional organizational structures.
- Strong background in privacy governance, legal risk management, and AI ethics.
