My client is looking for an experienced Solar PV Estimator and Technical Manager to lead the estimating, technical and commercial aspects of their solar PV division. This role is ideal for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented professional who can manage quoting, specification, and system design for large-scale house builders, domestic installations, and industrial projects.
The Role:
- Oversee all new enquiries, quotations, technical knowledge, design, and commercial aspects of solar PV projects.
- Quote and specify work, answer queries from developers, businesses, and homeowners ensuring technical accuracy.
- Support project teams with expert advice.
- Work closely with the projects contracts managers, the admin team, and the commercial team to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed quotes and specifications for large-scale housing developments, industrial projects, and bespoke domestic installations.
- Oversee the technical design of solar PV systems, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and optimal performance.
- Work closely with house builders, contractors, project supervisors, and internal teams to develop project solutions and ensure smooth execution.
- Provide technical support to project managers, ensuring installations are delivered to the highest standard.
- Interpret and create technical drawings for solar PV system designs using CAD software.
- Use PV Sol software and other industry tools for system modelling and performance analysis.
- Liaise with suppliers to source components and maintain cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with MCS, DNO, and health & safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and cost savings.
- Support the growth of the solar PV division by implementing best practices and technical leadership.
Required skills and experience:
- Extensive experience in Solar PV system design and project specification.
- Strong CAD experience for designing and interpreting technical drawings.
