We are helping a leading media company to hire a Head of Regulatory Compliance. This leadership role will be central to maintaining the organization\’s commitment to legal and ethical standards across its global operations. The Director will be responsible for shaping and directing adherence strategies in response to shifting international, national, and sector-specific requirements. This involves close collaboration with various internal departments, from client-facing teams to legal counsel, to gather essential information, generate comprehensive reports, and spearhead the implementation of new global initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and interpret changes in legal frameworks, with a strong emphasis on the European Union\’s directives on deforestation (EUDR), general product safety (GPSR), waste management responsibilities for producers (EPR) on packaging, battery regulations within the European Union (EUBR), corporate responsibility in supply chains (CSDD), and other pertinent international, regional, and local laws, to proactively prepare the business for these shifts.
  • Ensure the organization\’s internal guidelines and operational methods for adherence are current and effectively applied throughout. This includes identifying and evaluating critical control points related to the risks of non-compliance.
  • Design, refine, and oversee operational flows that guarantee adherence to regulations, encompassing the sourcing of raw materials, their tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with the supplier network and internal teams to establish strong systems for assessing and mitigating deforestation risks.
  • Verify that all regulatory and policy stipulations are integrated into supplier onboarding and approval procedures.
  • Work closely with various internal teams, including those focused on client relationships, strategic procurement, operational activities, training programs, and legal matters, to ensure a cohesive and unified approach to adherence.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and relevant industry associations.
  • Lead internal reviews to evaluate compliance with legal requirements and the organization\’s internal adherence standards.
  • Ensure the timely creation and maintenance of records and documentation that demonstrate adherence to relevant authorities.
  • Develop and present reports on adherence, including relevant data and performance indicators, to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Create clear and accessible policy documents and standards for all colleagues.
  • Provide guidance and leadership on adherence and ethical conduct, serving as a key contributor to the organization’s risk oversight group.
