Role Overview: Estimator – Roofing Industry Leading Roofing company based in Leicester providing pitched and flat roofing services to end users and main contractors throughout the UK. Key Responsibilities: * Review Project Plans and Specifications: * Analyze project requirements from plans, specifications, and drawings to gain an understanding of the scope. * Quantity Take-offs & Cost Estimation: * Conduct detailed quantity take-offs to prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing projects. * Collaboration and Coordination: * Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant information for accurate estimating. * Cost-Saving and Value Engineering: * Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options. * Bid Proposal Preparation: * Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals within established deadlines. * Cost Data Management: * Maintain a historical cost database to support future projects and ensure accuracy. Candidate Profile: * Industry Experience: * Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, particularly within the flat roofing sector (Single Ply, Built-Up Felt, Liquid Applied, Hot Melt). * Familiarity with roofing industry practices, cost structures, and specific technical requirements. * Technical Knowledge: * Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques, especially within the roofing industry. * Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and tools (e.g., Estimate, ), as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). * Skills & Attributes: * Analytical and mathematical skills to perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimations. * Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with stakeholders. * Ability to work independently while also being a team player. * Additional Experience (Desirable): * Experience in Commercial Roofing or Traditional Pitch Roofing would be an advantage
