Wiltshire College & University Centre have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Media to join our team.

The Role: Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of media professionals? The Creative Art, Media & Performance Faculty at Chippenham is looking for a dynamic Lecturer in Media to inspire and educate students in our Further Education (16–19-year-olds) UAL Creative Media Production courses, with a particular focus on Video Production & Postproduction. We are also keen to hear from those who have worked with emerging technologies and VFX.

Working at Chippenham you’ll have access to a multi-camera TV studio, a range of single camera production resources, postproduction, and design software. You’ll also be working alongside our wider Creative team, allowing for collaborative collaboration with staff delivering art, design, music, and games development courses.

Key Responsibilities: As a Lecturer in Media, you will:

  • Teach and Inspire: Deliver engaging lessons in Film/Video & Media Production, ensuring students gain practical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Develop and Innovate: Create comprehensive schemes of learning, lesson plans, and assessment strategies that foster student growth.
  • Enrich Student Experience: Actively participate in student enrichment activities, including live projects, external events, and community collaborations.
  • Support and Guide: Address pastoral needs and assist with enrolment and induction processes to ensure a smooth transition for all students.

You: We are seeking candidates who:

  • Are an Expert in Your Field: Hold a degree or higher technical qualification in Media or Video Production. We welcome applications from both qualified Lecturers and subject professionals eager to transition into teaching.
  • Are Tech Savvy: Possess knowledge of Postproduction software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects & Photoshop. Have a working knowledge of cinematography and experience of multi camera production.
  • Are Committed to Excellence: Aim to maximise student potential through best practice teaching, contributing to high retention, attendance, success rates, and progression.
