Our client is a market leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics delivering a range of services spanning container transport and storage, domestic distribution, warehousing, freight management, and truck sales.
You now have an incredible opportunity to join as a Traffic Operator at their Southampton depot working Monday to Friday with one in every four Saturdays worked.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Dealing with multiple drivers
- Communicating with ports
- Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
- Using a Transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times
- Chasing drivers for ETAs and making sure they are on time
- Rerouting jobs as and when needed
- Checking all PODs are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
- Speaking to customers on possible delays advising ETAs
Position Requirements
- Previous experience as a Traffic Operator - Essential
- Confident and clear communicator - written and verbal
- Excellent UK geographical knowledge
- Can work on own initiative
- Quick and efficient problem solving skills
- Organised at all times
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the business
Position Remuneration
- Starting Salary £33,000 - £36,000
- Annual salary review (discretionary)
