This is a start-up offering a seamless & affordable platform for their clients sending and receiving cross-border payments, via FIAT & Stablecoin. The company has significant backing from a prevalent, global digital assets business which has over $5bn in AUM. The founding team have strong backgrounds across market trading, hedge funds, FinTech & blockchain. They are at the phase of ramping up operations and will be officially launching their first core product in coming days.

This is the chance to be the first dedicated DevOps Engineering hire into the business. The team currently sits at 7 with 5 of those being engineers. You will collaborate directly with the CTO and other senior technical staff to support the design and implementation of infrastructure for the platform. You will have a lot of autonomy but also be expected to communicate thoughtful ideas. You will have input on best practices in respect of automation, optimisation of resources / costs and ensuring maximum system security & resilience. You’ll need to be comfortable working at high velocity to take releases from development to production and deliver solutions within short timeframes.

They’re looking for people who are keen to learn and develop with the company – a growth mindset is imperative here and you will have opportunities to thrive and progress as the business continues to grow. You will ideally have worked in DevOps or similar roles for ~5 years with some experience working in an early-stage payments business or FinTech.

Responsibilities:
  • Automate cloud infrastructure deployment using IaC tools like Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient application delivery.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting to ensure system stability.
  • Improve reliability and performance with a focus on high availability.
Requirements:
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, networking, IAM, and load balancing.
  • Proficiency in containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and messaging systems (Kafka).
  • Hands-on CI/CD pipeline development (GitHub Actions/GitOps preferred).
  • Strong PostgreSQL management skills, including scaling and optimisation.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Jaeger).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with identity providers (Okta, Auth0, Cognito, Keycloak) and authentication protocols.
  • Any knowledge of public key cryptography and SSL management.
  • Some familiarity with MDM (Jamf, Kandji) and network security tools (WAFs, CASB, SASE, ZTNA).
  • Some exposure to digital assets or blockchain tech will make you stand out, but isn’t a necessity.
