Job Description Summary
We are seeking a Logistics specialist that will be in charge of preparing and arranging for the shipping of Customers orders for UK and overseas in accordance with Customers instructions.
The main duties of the Logistics Specialist role will be:
- Preparing and arranging for the shipping of Customers orders for UK and overseas in accordance with Customers instructions
- Organizing shipment from supplier’s premises to Rugby warehouse and so from Rugby warehouse to final customer plant in several countries (UK, China, Korea)
- Ensuring that correct documentation is raised to achieve payment without delay
- Customs clearance and payment
- Reading Customers orders to determine required method of packing, despatch, Terms of payment, Delivery address, case markings, documentary & delivery requirements and distributing documents accordingly
- Checking Worklist daily for items, quantity, and order status
- Create picking lists and shipping documents from SAP System and where necessary edit to suit customer requirements
- Raising export invoices
- Distributing documents accordingly
- Arranging Insurance cover where appropriate
- Support tendering department by obtaining transport quotation
- Answering Customer queries either directly or by reference to Sales & Services/Contracts
Basic Qualifications
- Educational GCSE or equivalent with English and Maths
- Experience of at least 2 years within logistics and customs
- Knowledge of forwarding systems and shipping procedures
- Knowledge of customs regulations, export documentation and import regulations
- Computer literacy in SAP procedures and MS office suite
Desired Qualifications
- Previous SAP experience
- Capacity to manage and perform effectively when faced with a high volume of tasks and responsibilities
- Effective and professional communication skills over the telephone
