We are looking for an Interim Projects Engineer for this busy food manufacturer based in Northampton. Overseeing several multimillion-pound projects from an upgrade on an existing line, and scoping a new line install. After recently being bought out, the new owners are investing into efficiency in the plant.
You will need to have had previous food manufacturing experience and managed multiple projects. This role has been determined outside of IR35 and is available while we recruit for a permanent project engineer.
The role involves:
- Delivery of existing projects
- Working with the head of the engineering and maintenance team to understand current bottlenecks and provide solutions
- Working to budgets and providing cost-effective solutions
- Co-ordinating contractors and external labour and issuing permits
- Ensuring everyone maintains a safe working environment
- Regularly updating stakeholders on project progress
Qualifications & experience required for this role:
- Engineering qualification level 4 or above
- Project management experience
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of relevant engineering principles, tools, and software
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects or tasks
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project
- Budget Management Skills: Ability to manage project budgets effectively
The role offers an interim Projects Engineer position with Monday to Friday core hours of 7.30am to 4.30pm. Occasionally, delivery of the projects may require some hours outside of this, which will be compensated. The day rate is up to £420.00 per day, outside IR35, with off-site expenses related to the project (travel and accommodation to the main site will not be expensed). The contract is for a minimum of 3 months.
