We have an exciting opportunity available for a new Senior Social Worker to join the Children We Care For and Leaving Our Care team (also referred to as the "Here4U Team") here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent contract.

As a member of the Here4U team you will have limitless opportunities to make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people up to 25 years old who we care for and who are leaving our care. The team support these children and young people to ensure they receive the best possible opportunities in life.

The Here4U Team is a fantastic area to showcase your senior expertise in Social Care, as you will be working with children and young people from birth to 18 years old in a variety of settings, including kinship placements, foster care, residential care, placement with parents, UASC's, and semi-independent living. You will work with professionals and family members to meet the children's needs (which may be outside of the Borough) on both a planned and critical basis. You will work directly with children and young people on a daily basis, building long term relationships supporting their care plans to adulthood.

To enable you to work to your best we will continue to develop you in your role and as part of the team. In addition to your future development, you will also have the opportunity to develop the range of interventions and skills you bring to make a difference to children and young people.

About Our Team:

The Here4U Team is a bright and vibrant culture with a positive workforce made up of: 9 Personal Assistants, 3 ASYE Social Workers, 5 experienced/Senior Social Workers, 4 Assistant Team Managers and one Team Manager. The team work on a hybrid basis, where Social Workers are able to be flexible with their diary commitments, balancing the needs of the young people we care for. The team collectively meet in person twice a month, with online team time regularly diarised outside of this.
