We are seeking a proactive and organised Site Manager with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and leadership within the active fire protection sector. This role is ideal for someone with experience in sprinkler systems or similar disciplines, overseeing the installation, commissioning, and handover of active fire solutions on site. The successful candidate will join a leading fire protection contractor's M&E team to ensure works are delivered to the highest standards, on time, and in line with relevant fire safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure all works are completed in line with industry standards and relevant accreditations including BM TRADA. Conduct timely on-site checks to guarantee high-quality outcomes. Accurately input project data into the designated management system.
  • Site Management: Oversee site setup and sign-off processes. Manage stock levels, receive deliveries, and conduct site condition surveys. Ensure welfare facilities are in place and preliminaries are delivered effectively. Carry out post-inspections to support final project approval. Identify opportunities for project variations and promptly report them to the Project Manager.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise trades and sub-contractors, resolving daily challenges and promoting team morale. Manage conflicts and highlight resource needs. Maximise workforce productivity on-site. Provide training on project management software to sub-contractors and site teams.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all works are certifiable, compliant, and aligned with client expectations. Conduct spot checks and maintain records of completed works.
  • Client Liaison: Attend pre-start meetings and maintain a clean, organised site that reflects the company's professional image. Engage with clients and residents, explaining works clearly and managing expectations. Deliver regular progress updates to the Project Manager and participate in client calls as needed.
  • Communication: Provide weekly reports to clients and internal teams. Keep the Project Manager informed of site progress, with reporting frequency agreed in advance.
  • Health & Safety: Implement and uphold the company's Health & Safety policy across all sites. Ensure safe working practices through regular training and audits. Induct new tradespeople and ensure all relevant H&S paperwork is completed. Lead regular toolbox talks, including Health & Safety updates.
