An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established and respected Tier 1 main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK.
This role is based in St Albans, working within a collaborative and forward-thinking pre-construction team that plays a key role in securing major frameworks and high-value tenders across sectors such as water, utilities, highways, tunnelling, and energy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to identify project requirements and risks.
- Engage with supply chain partners to source quotations and evaluate pricing options.
- Develop pricing strategies in collaboration with commercial and operational teams.
- Contribute to bid submissions and presentations.
- Maintain and update cost databases, pricing models, and tender records.
- Support value engineering and risk management processes throughout the tender stage.
About You:
- Experience in an estimating role within civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities.
- Knowledge of groundworks, drainage, pipelines, concrete structures, or similar disciplines.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and estimating tools such as Causeway or similar.
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A proactive team player who thrives under deadline pressure.
